Hello all

I have receive notification that the Azure CDN (from Edgio (formerly Verizon)) that we use for our business is going end of life and we need to migrate to a different platform by mid-January. It is suggesting that we move to Azure Front Door.

We use our CDN for live streaming of events and then also for playback on-demand for a number of days following the event. Does Azure Front Door sound suitable for this purpose or does anybody have any additional recommendations?

Many thanks in advance.

Matt

    Hi Matt,

You are right the Azure CDN from Edgio is being retired January 15th, 2025. It is recommended to migrate your Azure CDN to Azure Front Door. Here are the few things to consider before you migrate to Front Door.

    1. Review Azure Front Door and Azure CDN features to determine if Azure Front Door is compatible with your workload(s).
    2. Understand Azure Front Door Pricing.
    3. Follow the Azure CDN to Azure Front Door migration guide. This guide provides detailed instructions on how to set up an Azure Front Door profile, test functionality, and migrate your compatible workloads from Azure CDN from Edgio to Azure Front Door with the help of Azure Traffic Manager.

Please let me know you have any further questions.

    Regards,

    Srini
