It doesn't, matter where is your work loads are the process will be the same.
To complete this lab, you will need two virtual machines: one to act as the source VM for migration and another to serve as the appliance server, where the Azure Migrate appliance will be installed and used for discovery.
- Create an Azure migrate project
- Click on Discovery shown below.
- Select the type of workload:
- For standard VMs, choose the Physical Server option.
- If you are working with specific workloads, select the appropriate option.
After completing the discovery process, the discovered machines will be displayed. In the same tab, you'll find the Create Assessment option. Use it to create a group, and the assessment will be generated accordingly.
Note: The document will apply equally to both on-premises server discovery and assessment as well as Azure VM discovery and assessment.
