    Hello, @Georgieva, Nora,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform!

To receive ownership of a mailbox when the current owner is no longer with the company, you'll need to involve your Exchange administrator. At the same time, ensure that you have "Full Access" permissions to the shared mailbox. This will allow you to read and reply to emails sent to the mailbox's email address.

Please the steps below to assign ownership of the mailbox PDL if you have administrative privileges:

    1. Open the Exchange Control Panel: Navigate to the Exchange Control Panel by logging into your Office 365 account and selecting "Admin" from the app launcher. Then, choose "Exchange" from the admin centers.
    2. Access Distribution Groups: In the Exchange admin center, go to "Recipients" and then select "Groups."
    3. Select the Distribution Group: Find the distribution group (mailbox PDL) you want to assign ownership to and click on it to open its properties.
    4. Assign Ownership: In the properties window, go to the "Ownership" tab. Here, you can add yourself as the owner by clicking on the "+" button and selecting your name from the list of users.
    5. Save Changes: After adding yourself as the owner, click "Save" to apply the changes.

If you do not have the necessary permissions or encounter any issues you may need to contact your IT support team for assistance. Remember to mention this if the current owner has left the company. They can help you with the process and ensure that you have the appropriate permissions to manage the mailbox PDL.

Once you have ownership, you can update the permissions to add new team members to the mailbox PDL. ensure that the new members have the appropriate permissions to access and manage the mailbox.

(Note: In most cases, it is best to go through your IT department to ensure everything is done correctly and securely.)
