Hi

I have an issue when using Cloud Hybrid Search with a SharePoint On Premise SE farm. I have created a site with a library containing more than 1000 files. UserA and UserB have the same permissions in On Premise (Web Application NTLM) on the library.

Then I perform a full index and search result is appearing on the cloud.

I created a page containing a Search Result to this library. This page is accessible by the 2 users.

What is strange is that UserA see about 800 files and UserB 500 files, even if they are using the same search result webpart from the same page. What I expected is that both users have the same search result, 1000 files.

I cannot find the reason of this, making this hybrid search not reliable.

If I try with an UserC, I have another result. It seems there is no logic.

Any help will be appreciate.

Many thanks

    Hi @SARTEEL Christophe,

The issue you're experiencing with different search results for UserA and UserB, despite having the same permissions, may be related to how access control lists (ACLs) are synchronized and interpreted in the hybrid search setup.

To ensure that both users see the same results, consider assigning access rights using a security group that is not excluded from synchronization, such as the Everyone group or a custom group. This way, the ACLs for the files can be correctly recognized and translated for both users, ensuring they receive the same search results.

Additionally, check if there are any specific query rules or filters applied to the search results that might affect what each user sees.
