We are looking to upgrade our machines from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (23H2), using a patch management tool. a few laptops have been selected to test the upgrade but wasn't successful it generated an error message preventing us from pushing the upgrade.

The "Process exited with code -1073741819" is a general error from Microsoft. 0xC0000005 -1073741819 STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION Upon reaching out to the patch management tool support they suggested to contact Microsoft since it's beyond their scope.

    Hello.

What patch management tool are you using? It may not be a Microsoft product.

Please make sure your system meets the requirements for upgrading to Win11 first:

Windows 11 24H2 is now available, and we recommend that you using Windows 11 Installation Assistant:

STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION is common BSOD notifications. It seems something wrong with the device driver. Please run the official health check tool and report the error message here. If the device was too old, then it is not recommended installing Windows 11 on it. It could be great to share the hardware specs as well.
