Unable to create a Azure Database MySQL Flexible server

Dear all,

hope you are doing well.

I'm facing a strange issue.
I'm able to deploy MySQL flexible server in France Central, but while trying the same in Switzerland North I'm getting the error: ProvisionNotSupportedForRegion

Ok why not...

However when checking the services availability for Switzerland North, the Azure MySQL Database is in status Generally Available

See here: https://cdn-dynmedia-1.microsoft.com/is/content/microsoftcorp/microsoft/final/en-us/microsoft-product-and-services/azure/documents/pxr/020-Azure-product-availability-Switzerland1.pdf

So is it a temporary issue or is the documentation wrong?
If the doc is wrong how to find out where the service is really available...

Many thanks for your feedback

    Hi David,

This error can be a result of limited capacity in the region. What you can do is create a new Service and subscription limits (quotas) request and ask for access to provision in Switzerland North. To do this, navigate to Cost Management -- Help -- New support request blade:

    https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_CostManagement/Menu/~/support/openedBy/AzurePortal

Click Next, click Enter details, select Quota type: Region access, select Switzerland North, etc. , Save and continue. Finish filling out details of case, Next, Create. You should receive an email confirmation within a few minutes and then be contacted by support on next business day.

NOTE: It is possible that they will deny your request due to capacity limit or other, but at least you tried.

    Thanks.

    Hi @David Hueber (DHU),

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform. In addition to @TP.

This may be a temporary capacity issue. Please go through this document that might help you: Resolve capacity errors for Azure Database for MySQL - Flexible Server

This issue can be resolved by submitting a support ticket. The link for raising a ticket is provided in the documentation above.

I have already attempted it from my end and successfully created the Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server in the Switzerland North region.

If you're unable to create the server in the Switzerland North region, I recommend trying the East US region instead. I have already tested it there and was able to successfully create the server.

    Thanks TP for the hint.
We just submitted the request for additional quotas.
Let see if this was the issue.

    Thanks
