Hi Team,

I want to create linked server in Azure Managed Instance using Microsoft OLEDB driver, but I am unable to do the same so can you please help me with that if there is any way where we can do that.

Or is there any other solution to connect Azure Managed Instance.?

I am testing my newly created Azure Managed Instance, earlier we were using On prem Database which was connected through Linked server, to migrate SQL lite database file to Sql Server on prem we had set up the ODBC driver.

Now we have moved into Azure Managed Instance and I wanted to connect with SQL Lite file by using Linked server and ODBC driver, but I am facing issues and the below mentioned error is occuring.

Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "GDMDB". OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "GDMDB" returned message "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified". (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 7303)

Is there any way we can resolve this

You are facing this error because, Azure Managed Instance doesn't support using third-party ODBC drivers (such as SQLite) directly for linked servers. The MSDASQL provider is typically used for connecting to external data sources like Excel, Access, or other ODBC-compliant databases, but this might not be supported on Azure Managed Instance.
