Hi,

We Have Exchange 2019 DAG with 4 Servers in a single DAG. Each Server has 6 volumes and each volume has 4 DBs. all Servers are holidng the same volume size and number of DBs. Now we have noticed Volume 2 on two servers are nearly 10%, so planning to extend it. Since we have Virtualized environments, Already extend the volume on VMs, now before extend it from Disk Management, just need to make sure whether we need to extend the volume size on all servers or only 2 servers that are showing the 10% warning.

You would only need to extend the volumes on the affected servers, though its typically recommended that all volumes across the DAG members match in size.

    Hi @System Admin - Exch ,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform!

Based on your description, you have already expanded the volume on the VM. Since you are dealing with a Database Availability Group (DAG) in Exchange 2019, it is important to ensure consistency across all servers to avoid any potential issues.

In this case, you should expand the volume size on all four servers. This ensures that each server in the DAG has the same configuration, which is critical to maintaining high availability and consistency. Expanding the volume on only the two servers that are showing the 10% warning can cause imbalance and potential issues with database replication and failover.

Here are the steps you should follow:

    1. Expand the volume on the VM (which you have already done).
    2. Expand the volume from Disk Management on all four servers.
    3. Verify the volume size on all servers to ensure that they are consistent.

By doing this, you will maintain a uniform environment in the DAG, which is critical for optimal performance and reliability.
