The SiteRecovery-Windows Azure VM extension failed with status stuck in "transitioning"

We can't enable protection on our Azure VM because of the faulty SiteRecovery-Windows Azure VM extension. All other VM extensions are fine so I don't think there is an issue with Azure Agent. The issue is SiteRecovery-Windows Azure VM extension failed with status stuck in "transitioning" and VM extension version is 1.0.0.9244

Did you try uninstalling the Site Recovery Extension as guided in the troubleshooting article? - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/site-recovery-extension-troubleshoot#the-site-recovery-extension-fails-to-update-or-load
If you have already tried the steps from troubleshooting guide, then you need to check the ASR failed jobs error details. Because the extension might have failed due to other errors.
