Standard_D8s_v3 SKU Restricted in North Europe for My Subscription Despite Increased Quotas

Hello, Azure Community,

I am experiencing an issue with deploying the Standard_D8s_v3 virtual machine SKU in the North Europe region. Despite increasing my DSv3 quota from 20 to 70 vCPUs, I’m still encountering a restriction message indicating that Standard_D8s_v3 is unavailable in North Europe for my subscription. Here’s what I’ve done and checked so far:

  • I verified the SKU availability using the az vm list-skus command, which confirms that Standard_D8s_v3 is listed under standardDSv3Family for the North Europe region.
  • I checked my quota limits in the Azure Portal, which now reflect an increased quota of 70 vCPUs for the Standard_DSv3 Family in North Europe.
  • I also attempted to deploy the VM via the Azure CLI, but the restriction error persists.

My Questions:

Is there any additional configuration I might need to change, or is there a known limitation with my subscription that restricts certain SKUs in specific regions?

Has anyone experienced similar issues after increasing quotas, where the deployment restriction still appears?

Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi @Ahmed BOUGACHA [STAGIAIRE],

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform! Thank you for asking your question here.

Even after increasing your vCPU quota, there may be other related limits that could impact your deployment. Make sure you have sufficient quota for other resources such as memory and storage, and that you are not exceeding the total vCPU limit for your subscription.

If you have multiple subscriptions or tenants, ensure that you've selected the correct subscription from the dropdown list. Sometimes, the default subscription may no longer be valid or could be disabled. Additionally, try deploying the same VM in another subscription within the same region to see if the issue persists.

Some subscriptions may have restrictions on specific SKUs in certain regions, depending on the subscription type.

If you are still facing the same issue, please share the error message so I can provide more information to help you.

If you have any further queries, do let us know.
