Currently now i have VPN gateway to connecting my onprem to azure via site to site VPN.

If i enabled the Point To Site to connecting home user to azure resources and to connecting to internal onprem resources, will consume extra costs or not?

    Hi Handian Sudianto,

    Greetings!

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & I hope you are doing well.

Azure VPN Gateway is billed on an hourly basis, depending on the gateway type and SKU that you use. It's important to note that the cost of a VPN Gateway is based on the gateway type and the amount of time that gateway is provisioned and available.

For Point-to-Site (P2S) VPNs specifically, there are additional charges for VPN gateway hours, data transfer out, and the maximum number of concurrently connected devices (tunnels). However, idle sessions shouldn't significantly impact your costs, as they are not actively transferring data.

Up to 128 connections you will not be charged, after that you will need to pay: $0.01/hour per connection per connectionSKU

    Data transfer costs

Data transfer costs are calculated based on egress traffic from the source virtual network gateway.

    • If you're sending traffic to your on-premises VPN device, it will be charged with the Internet egress data transfer rate.
    • If you're sending traffic between virtual networks in different regions, the pricing is based on the region.
    • If you're sending traffic only between virtual networks that are in the same region, there are no data costs. Traffic between VNets in the same region is free.

    Hope this clarifies,

    Thanks
