Hey. I am tearing my hair out with Exchange online Resources. I have configured a booking delegation to a group, user, and shared mailbox and seem to have the same experience. A booking request is received; however, when the user clicks approve, the request disappears momentarily and then returns. The booking is never approved. This is the same for a declined request. I am using Exchange Online and have the following Calendar Processing options set:

    Hello, @Travis Fuller,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform!

I can understand how this would bother you. I tested this and when I set the calendar processing options to match yours, I did not have the problem you mentioned. I recommend you take the following troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:

1.Message Trace: Run a message trace(https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/Exchange/monitoring/trace-an-email-message/message-trace-modern-eac) to see if there are any issues with the delivery of the approval/decline messages. This can help identify if the messages are being delivered correctly or if they are getting stuck somewhere.

2.Check Delegate Permissions: Ensure that the delegates have the correct permissions to approve or decline booking requests. They should have “Full Access” and “Send As” or “Send on Behalf” permissions for the resource mailbox. Make sure the delegates are correctly listed and have the appropriate permissions.

3.Check for conflicts: Ensure that there are no conflicts with existing bookings, any conflicting requests will be automatically rejected.

4.Calendar Processing Settings: From your settings, it appears that "AutomateProcessin" is set to "AutoAccept". This setting should automatically accept or decline meeting requests based on the rules you've configured. However, if there's an issue with this processing, you might want to set it to "AutoUpdate" temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.

5.Check in Outlook and EAC: Respectively, see if you've set the option to automatically reject if certain requirements are met.

I hope the above methods will help you solve your problem. If not, we may need some additional information from you.

1.Are your sender, booking delegation and receiver in the same organization or are there some connections, and is the booking delegation a shared mailbox?

2.You mentioned “the request disappears instantly and then returns”, what do you mean by the request disappears and what interface is returned?

3.Does the same problem occur when trying to change the booking delegation?

    Hi Alex,

I tried the following and still having issues.

    • I added the users as Full delegates, Send as delegate and send on behalf delegates. This is on top of the booking delegate permission.
    • Checked for conflicts
    • Changed the processing setting to "Auto Accept"
    • Check the requirements

The users are in the same organisation as the resource, so I don't have to worry about external users. What I mean by the request disappearing is that the booking delegate receives an email to approve the booking, they approve the booking, the request disappears from their inbox and then within a few seconds, the request re-appears as if nothing happened. This is all within Outlook online.

I am having the same issue no matter who the booking delegate is.
