Unable to active my Office Home & Business 2021 (permanent license)
Hi everyone, I purchased a permanent license for Office Home & Business 2021 with my Dell laptop in 2023 altogether directly from Dell.
Please note this is not Office 365 but specifically the permanent license for Office Home & Business 2021. I previously activated Office Home & Business 2021 with an email snooze***@gmail.com and it worked great.
Of note, I don't use the snooze***@gmail.com email. I used it solely to activate the Office software.
My actual email is not snooze***@gmail.com; my current computer does not use snooze***@gmail.com.
Here's what happened: I reformatted the computer recently.
When I try to reactivate my permanent license of Office Home & Business 2021 on this same computer using the snooze***@gmail.com email that was previously connected to the Office Home & Business 2021, I get this screen that says the following I simply can't get past:
Use Windows Hello with your account
To easily and securely access apps with snooze@gmail.com, you need to set it up with Windows Hello Face, Fingerprint, or PIN.***
If you already have it set up, we will automatically add it for this account. You may be asked to re-verify with Windows Hello.
I click OK. The next screen states this:
Making sure it's you
We need to verify your identity for snooze@gmail.com.***
PIN
I forgot my PIN
I have no idea what this Windows Hello PIN is for snooze***@gmail.com email that's connected to the permanent license for Office Home & Business 2021.
When I click on the I forgot my PIN, I get this prompt:
You can reset your PIN by going to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
What's impossible for me to do is reset the PIN because I can't get to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options because my computer doesn't use the snooze***@gmail.com email.
I think I can activate the permanent license for Office Home & Business 2021 if I can get past the PIN by resetting the PIN.
Is that correct?
If yes, how do I reset the PIN when I can't get to the Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options because my computer doesn't use the snooze***@gmail.com email?
If this is incorrect, please show me what I can do next to activate the permanent license for Office Home & Business 2021 that seems tied to snooze***@gmail.com email?
