I created a Microsoft365 developer account with my personal hotmail account. I intend to use this for my personal projects. My intention was to create a sharepoint site and use graph api/c# development. But when I tried to create a Microsoft 365 Tennant in order to create a sharepoint site, I get the error message sayng I can't use a personal account for this purpose, I need a work or school account. I can not use my work account on my personal PC for security purspose. Does this mean I can not develop sharepoint through free Developer 365 program ? I just want a basic sharepoint site that I can access from a .net application.

    Hi @Tanveer-Ibn- Haresh,

According to the Microsoft 365 Developer Program FAQ, you can sign up for the developer program using a Microsoft account (created for personal use), a work account (issued by an admin for business use), or a Visual Studio ID.

However, to develop SharePoint sites and use the Microsoft Graph API with a Microsoft 365 Developer Account, you need to have a work or school account. Personal accounts, such as those created with Hotmail, are not supported for creating a Microsoft 365 tenant, which is necessary for SharePoint development.

Since you mentioned that you cannot use your work account on your personal PC for security reasons, you might consider creating a separate work or school account specifically for development purposes. This account can be used to sign up for the Microsoft 365 Developer Program, which provides access to the necessary resources for SharePoint and Graph API development.
