We have some weird problem. Exchange 2019 DAG onprem an Outlook 2016 / Outlook 2022 LTSR. Same behavior in both.

We can Start and Close Outlook 2-3 times in a row without any problems. after that, on the next outlook start, in cache mode it stays disconnected and stays disconnected for about 12 minutes. in online-mode, it just doesnt start an says "could not start microsoft outlook cannot open the outlook window could not be opened. the foldergroup could not be opened. error when logging on to microsoft exchange (translated)". After 12 minutes, it starts normally.

It seems to be related to the number of shared mailboxen we have connected. it is about 25. reducing the number of connected shared mailboxes increases the number of possible outlook-restarts

Any ideas on this case? Many thanks!

    Hi, @jan2345

According to your description, reducing the number of connected shared mailboxes does help increase the number of Outlook restarts. This indicates that the issue may be related to the load or the way Outlook handles multiple shared mailboxes.

As an initial troubleshooting, you can try the following suggestions:

    1. Keep the number of shared mailboxes to a minimum.
    2. Avoid many users logging in repeatedly or opening shared mailboxes at the same time.
    3. Launch Outlook in safe mode and disable the add-in to see if there is any improvement.
    4. Create a new Outlook profile in cache mode to see if there is an error.
    5. Verify the DAG's operational status and performance, observing CPU and memory usage to make sure they are not being overused.

Considering that the problem lasts for a short period of time and does not affect the normal use of Outlook, you can try the above suggestions to see if there is any improvement and move on to the next step of troubleshooting.
