The machine images in the App in a Day content will not show in the Canvas App.

I have experienced the same issue, the images appear to be located in this folder:

either access issue, or the files have been moved ?

Still not working. They've been "looking into this since November"... yeah right.

as far as I know, the whole domain of the image URLs has been suppressed and not even the images for the MachineTypes table are available anymore...it's just sample data and it doesn't even take much space, why delete all of that stuff if it's for testing and developing purposes?
I took screen shots from the exercise and created my own images (just a few), so I could at least have some images in my app:
