Hi Support team,

This is Tanja from Databox.

We at Databox integrate with your App, and we are currently working on adding 2 new Metrics to our Microsoft Ads integration. However, there is some discrepancy present between Microsoft Ads UI and API, for which we would need your assistance to resolve this issue.

Metrics in question are:

  1. Top Impression rate by Campaign
  2. Top Absolute Impression rate by Campaign

I would be happy to share more details via private message/email about the API request/response we make, since these details are sensitive to share publicly. Can someone help with this issue from the API team?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Tanja,

While you wait for the support team, can I share some suggestions?

See, Discrepancies between the Microsoft Ads UI and API, particularly concerning metrics like Top Impression Rate and Absolute Top Impression Rate, can arise due to several factors:

    1. Data Synchronization Timing: The UI and API may not update simultaneously, leading to temporary differences.

Data Aggregation Methods: The UI might apply different aggregation techniques compared to the API, affecting metric calculations.

    1. API Limitations: Certain metrics may not be fully supported or may have known issues within the API.

    To address these discrepancies:

    • Verify API Requests: Ensure that your API calls match the parameters and filters used in the UI to maintain consistency.
    • Consult Documentation: Review the Microsoft Advertising API documentation for details on metric definitions and potential limitations.

By aligning your API usage with the UI's data handling practices and staying informed about any API constraints, you can minimize discrepancies and ensure more accurate data integration.
