Deployment/ Imaging

Hi, I'm working at a event rental company with about 50 notebooks used for events. These Notebooks get imaged after every event, so everything is back at zero.

Right now we're creating a new base image every year, image that onto every notebook change computer names and login to m365 for powerpoint etc and put every finished image on our filezilla server. Warehouse then images via PXE and Filezilla after every use but still have to manually log in to M365 when the image is older than a few weeks and disable windows updates.

Base Image contains some drivers, one offline onedrive folder, a few apps, background, sound and system/ powersave settings.

Why change from filezilla? - Updating our images takes at least 2 full workdays, wich means any changes or wishes for the image only can get realized once or twice a year (including windows updates). And warehouse hates this process and sometimes forgets to manually log in to m365 and you'll be on site with a client without any internet connection and can't edit their powerpoint.

I've read through many articles that covered intune, wdt, mdt, sccm, intune, autopilot etc. But I can't wrap my head around it. What would be the best solution for me? We're okay with spending money, but intune looks like it does way more than we need and costs accordingly. Please help, thank you

I would suggest you to go through and study all options Intune provides for managing devices. There are many articles about this, this is just only one of them.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/remote-actions/devices-wipe

So keep in mind, that in Intune console you have options; retire/wipe/autopilot reset for Windows. Understand the differences and plan which option suits you the best. Also maybe for continues daily re-imaging, the simpliest MDT solition might work for you, but there you would need to work with wim files and Task Sequence.
