can we unlock use of Azure vmware esxi and vcenter for testing the product we are working on

hi we wanted to test and deploy our product on Azure Vmware offering of esxi and Vcenter. can we use this product under this subscription? If we can how do we unlock it?

Hi Jass,

I’ve seen this setup with one of our customers, and here’s how they successfully managed it:

Access to Azure VMware Solution (AVS): They confirmed that their Azure subscription supported AVS, which provides VMware infrastructure within Azure, including ESXi and vCenter. This allowed them to run VMware workloads directly in Azure without needing to convert or reconfigure their VMs.

Setting up the Private Cloud: They worked with Azure support to set up their AVS private cloud environment. This step was crucial for provisioning dedicated VMware infrastructure on Azure, which AVS handles as a managed service.

Deploying ESXi and vCenter: After the environment was ready, they accessed vCenter as they would on-premises, managing ESXi hosts in a familiar interface. The team was able to use native VMware tools without modification, so they could operate as usual with their existing vCenter and ESXi setup.

Unlocking Their Product: If their product required license activation, they handled it directly within the AVS environment by connecting via VPN or ExpressRoute. This ensured secure access and allowed them to unlock and configure their software just as they would on an on-premises network.

Testing and Deployment: With their VMware environment live on AVS, they deployed and tested the product under the same conditions they’d use in a physical VMware environment. They also integrated with Azure services for monitoring and additional capabilities, which helped streamline their operations.

This approach allowed them to leverage VMware functionality on Azure seamlessly, maintaining compatibility and support for their VMware-dependent applications.

Yes, you can use Azure VMware Solution to deploy and test your product. You need an Azure account in an Azure subscription that adheres to one of the following criteria:

A subscription under an Azure Enterprise Agreement (EA) with Microsoft.

A Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) managed subscription under an existing CSP Azure offers contract or an Azure plan.

A Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) with Microsoft. see Eligibility criteria.

To get started you need to Request host quota for EA and MCA customers
CSP customers
Next steps.

Important:
It can take up to five business days to allocate the hosts, depending on the number requested. Therefore, request what you need for provisioning to avoid the delays associated with making additional quota increase requests.
