Hello!

Consider the following test:

One user (Michael Firsov) sends a message to another user (ExchAdmin).

The message is successfully delivered to ExchAdmin's mailbox.

I want to see this message in Delivery Reports and

  1. I search for messages sent from Michael Firsov mailbox and does see this message:

and

  1. I search for messages received by ExchAdmin:

  • and this time the search results are empty... - why?

Thank you in advance,
Michael

    Hi @Hram Admin ,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform!

Based on your description, you are experiencing a delivery report issue in your email system. Here are a few potential reasons why messages may not appear in the search results for messages received by ExchAdmin:

    1. Make sure the search filters are set correctly. Sometimes filters such as date range, folder selection, or specific keywords can affect search results.
    2. The indexing process may be delayed. If the message was recently sent, it may not have been indexed yet and therefore will not appear in the search results.
    3. Verify that you have the necessary permissions to view the ExchAdmin delivery report. Sometimes, permission issues can prevent certain messages from appearing in search results.
    4. Check if there are any mailbox rules set for ExchAdmin that may automatically move or delete messages, affecting their visibility in search results.
    5. Sometimes, the email system may experience temporary glitches or errors that affect search functionality. Restarting the search or email client may resolve this issue.

Please feel free to contact me for any updates. And if this helps, don't forget to mark it as an answer.

    Best,

    Jake Zhang

    Hello Jake Zhang,

Please kindly excuse me for such a long delay :(

...rebuilding a content index can not be done in Exchange Server 2019 since it doesn't support it any more - https://www.alitajran.com/exchange-server-content-index-state-notapplicable/

I still don't know what's the root cause of the problem but providing I've been experiencing this issue since ... may be Excange 2013 - I think it should be something else..

    Regards,
    Michael
