Express route and effective routes on VM

HI Everybody,

I've setup an express route circuit with his own virtual network gateway etc. Route propagation works as expecte in both directions.

For testing, i've create another vnet and peered vnet3 (new one) with vnet2 where there is the virtual network gateway. Peering is ok i've enable all options to allow the communication and transit between those two vnets.

I've advertise one ip on my onprem (/32), the ip is correctly propagate via express route, and i can see the route on my route table on azure.

The thing is, on my new vm on vnet3, when i check "effective routes" i can see the route to my ip onprem on the route table, but when i check with route print on the vm, i can't see the route to my onprem.

There is something that i miss ?

Thanks for your help.

    @RL ,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & I hope you are doing well.

    I understand that you are not able to see the route advertised via ExpressRoute within the OS of an Azure VM.

    • May I ask why you would like to verify the Route Table within the OS Level?
    • Is there any requirement for this?
    • Ideally, I believe this should be an expected behavior
    • The BGP/System/User Defined routes are applied at the platform level and I doubt they will be imprinted into the OS level.

    Are you actually facing problem reaching this /32 address?

    Thanks,

    Kapil
