I've been on a chat for hours with Microsoft support and they have passed me on to you here. I have been working with chatGPT, trying to write a script to enable Excel to use a few Auto Hot Keys to run a simple stopwatch function directly in a sheet? Atttached is a copy of the script. Starting on line 50 there are instructions for the script to try to access Excel's COMOBject feature and that attempt is being returned in a MsgBox that Excel has no workbook open. This isn't the case since I am starring at the workbook sheet where the assigned autohotkey script needs to work. We cannot understand why we would get this message, if we didn't need some other kind of access, add-ins, etc in order for this to be accessed in EXcel. Can someone please help us understand what we need to do going forward to get this little project completed? Custom AHK Stopwatch (edit 15-diagnose why excel COM Obj fails.txt
