Application failed to run due to missing .NET Framework

Question

One of the applications failed to install today. I got the below error:

This application requires one of the following versions of the .NET Framework:

V4.0

Do you want to install this .NET Framework version now?

But when I click to install .NET Framework, the installation doesn't occur and shows the message ".NET Framework 4.8 is already installed on this computer".

Strange! Please help!

1,May we know how many computers are facing this issue and what's the OS version?

2,We can try reinstall the .Net Framework 4.8 and install the Windows update to have a try:

Step 1: Uninstall

1-Click on Start, then search for "Turn Windows features on or Off" and click on that

2-Uncheck the .Net Framework 4.8

3-Click on Ok and reboot your PC

Step2: Reinstall

1-Click on Start, then search for "Turn Windows features on or Off" and click on that

2-Select the .Net Framework 4.8

3-Clic on Ok to reinstall, and then reboot your PC

4-Open the Windows Update and check if there is any update for the .Net Framework and install them.

3,If it doesn't work, we can also try to reinstall the OS.
