AZCM0072: Error Running Extension Tool

I'm getting the above error when trying to list installed extensions for a server with the Azure Connected Machine agent installed. Tried a fresh install of the agent and get the same error message.The support link listed in the error message does not contain the Exit code. Running the latest agent version 1.47.02843.1892, Windows Server 2016

The error message shows Exit Code: AZCM0022, which indicates an issue running the Extension Tool for Azure Connected Machine. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve this:
- Check Logs for Detailed Errors
- Review the Azure Connected Machine Agent logs for more details. The logs are typically located at:
- Windows:
C:\ProgramData\AzureConnectedMachineAgent\LogsLook for errors in theextension-handler.logorazcmagent.log.
- Windows:
- Validate Agent Configuration
- Ensure the agent is successfully connected to Azure Arc. Run the following command:
azcmagent show- Check if the agent status shows as Connected.
- If disconnected, verify the service principal, connectivity, or certificate settings.
3 Reinstall the Extension Manager- Sometimes, issues with the extension handler can be resolved by reinstalling or resetting it. Run:
azcmagent extension remove --name <extension-name>azcmagent extension add --name <extension-name>
- Verify System Requirements
- Ensure the server meets Azure Arc prerequisites:
- TLS 1.2 is enabled.
- Necessary outbound ports are open (e.g., 443 for HTTPS).
- Root certificates are up to date.
- Reinstall the Agent
If the issue persists:
- Uninstall the agent:
azcmagent disconnectFollowed by removing it from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Delete the folder:
C:\ProgramData\AzureConnectedMachineAgent- Reinstall the latest agent.
