Intune Wrapped App Access Blocked for User – "This app has not been set up" Error

Hello,

I am facing an issue where an Intune-wrapped app is showing the following error message when a user tries to access it:

"App access blocked: This app has not been set up for Mohans@outsystemsDemo.onmicrosoft.com **to use. Contact your organization's support team for help."

Background:

  • I have wrapped a third-party app using the Intune App Wrapping Tool.
  • The app has been assigned to the user Mohans@outsystemsDemo.onmicrosoft.com in the Intune portal.
  • An App Protection Policy has been created and assigned to the user, targeting the wrapped app.
  • The user has an appropriate license (Intune and Azure AD Premium P2).
  • Conditional Access is set up, and we are not using the "Require approved client app" control to allow third-party apps.
  • The Conditional Access policy enforces Require app protection policy.

What I’ve Tried:

  1. Ensured that the App Protection Policy is properly assigned to the user.
  2. Confirmed the wrapped app is assigned to the user in Intune.
  3. Checked Azure AD to confirm the app is registered as an enterprise application.
  4. Verified that the user has the necessary licenses for Intune and Azure AD Premium.
  5. Rewrapped the app and redeployed it, but the issue persists.

Question:

What could be causing the app to show this error message, and what additional steps can I take to resolve it? Is there anything specific I should check regarding the app setup in Intune or Azure AD?

    From your description, I know you got an error when accessed a deployed app by you.

    Based on my research, there error message means failed to detect a required app protection policy for the app.
