Windows 10 VM lost network connection after update

I have a Windows 10 virtual machine setup for remote access on Server 2012 HyperV. Everytime Windows Updates applies any sort of patch, the machine comes back without the ability to receive a DHCP address. Additionally, specifying a static as APIPA address still does not connect to the network. Adding a new HyperV network connection does not restore connectivity either. I have even tried moving the virtual machine to a Server 2019 hypervisor and the problem still exists. The only way to restore network connectivity to this machine is to rollback the updates, which takes hours and has to be done constantly. Is there any way to prevent loss of connectivity after updates?

    Hi Eric,

    Thanks for your post. We have encountered similar issue that can be resolved by unchecking the "Allow enhanced session mode" in Hyper-V Settings. Kindly do it and see if it works.

    Setting location: In the Hyper-V manager right side, open the settings and see the Enhanced session mode, uncheck the option and try again.
