Am I allowed to use my Vision Studio API on a public facing website?

I'm using the Vision Studio AI "Extract text from images" feature (OCR). Am I allowed to use this on my public facing website, where people can upload their own files to convert their images to text?

I'm curious if this is allowed incase people upload malicious files, since I don't want to be liable or have my account shutdown if they do this. Obviously I would use a virus scanner and heavily moderate the files being sent to the API, but it's still possible for malicious files to slip through.

    Hello Pizza123,

Thanks for reaching out Microsoft Q&A forum!

You can use Azure Vision Studio's "Extract text from images" (OCR) feature on your public-facing website, where users upload files to convert images to text. However, ensure compliance with Azure's terms of service and data privacy laws. It's important to have a clear privacy policy, obtain user consent for processing personal data, and verify that users have the rights to upload the images. To safely allow users to upload files for Azure's OCR feature, ensure compliance with Azure's terms of service and limit uploads to known image formats (like JPEG and PNG). Set a maximum file size, implement robust virus scanning, and moderate uploads to detect malicious content. Process the files and include a legal disclaimer stating that users are responsible for their uploads. These measures can help mitigate risks and protect your Azure account.
