I'm working on setting up my first Hybrid with SharePoint.

I really only want to ensure the Office Waffle is setup and no more. I don't plan on doing search or anything more.

I'm confused by the prereqs for hybrid setup.

If I'm setting up "OneDrive" and "Sharepoint" to redirect to SharePoint Online, do I need to setup a My Site service?

I've got a brand new install. I'm trying to understand what will happen when using the Hybrid Wizard. I'm super nervous about accidentally configuring something I can't remove.

    Hi @ComputerHabit ,

    Welcome to Q&A forum!

To set up the Office Waffle and redirect OneDrive and SharePoint to SharePoint Online, you will need to configure the My Sites service. The My Sites service is essential for the hybrid setup, especially when you want to redirect OneDrive to SharePoint Online.

When using the Hybrid Configuration Wizard, it will help automate the configuration process, but it's important to note that if you run the wizard and select options, those features will be installed, and they won't be uninstalled if you later deselect them in a subsequent run. Therefore, it's crucial to carefully review the options you select during the setup.

Since you're concerned about accidentally configuring something you can't remove, it's advisable to proceed with caution and ensure that you understand each step in the Hybrid Configuration Wizard.
