HI there, hopefully a simple one, I am trying to setup site recovery for a given resource group. I am a global admin on our tenant. however, I am unable to find a certain resource group from the drop down menu - this is for any exising recovery services vault or any new one I create. Am I missing something blindingly obvious? the resource group I am trying to enable site recovery contains the majority of our Azure assets and apart from this niggle, all works fine.

Kind Regards

Pete

@peteg_adm Thank you for reaching out to us!

If you're unable to find a specific resource group in the drop-down menu when setting up Site Recovery, you can check the following:

The resource group may not be available in the same region as the Recovery Services vault. Ensure that the resource group and the Recovery Services vault are in the same region.

Even as a global admin, ensure that you have the necessary permissions on the specific resource group. Check if there are any role-based access control (RBAC) restrictions in place.

Ensure that the resource group is in the same Azure subscription where you are trying to set up Site Recovery. If you're using multiple subscriptions, the resource group may not appear if it's in a different one. In the Target blade, re-select the subscription in the dropdown, then try to select the resource group again. This often resolves the issue and makes all your resource groups reappear.

Also, refer to the link - Elevate access to manage all Azure subscriptions and management groups should help in your case.

As a workaround, consider using Azure PowerShell or Azure CLI to check and enable Site Recovery for the resource group.

If everything appears correct and the resource group is still missing, reaching out to Azure technical support may provide clarity or help resolve any underlying issues.

Here is the link - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-portal/supportability/how-to-create-azure-support-request to create support case.

    Hope this helps!
