Having an issue with receiving a blue screen Error 1801 when trying to connect to a printer that is shared on our Windows Print Server.

The Print Driver is up to date

the Printer is being deployed via GPO to our user ( standard Domain user) and that fails.

If we navigate to \printserver.local, we can see the printers being shared via the print server just fine on the client machine, so I know they are there

If we try and manually connect to one by double clicking on one of the shared printers, we get an error 1801, and it fails.

the Domain User has access to the printer via Security Group, so I know its not a rights issue.

any thoughts?

    Hello,

    Check your anti-virus or firewall.

Then try to Modify Windows Registry

    Find key "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments<PLATFORM>\Drivers"

Find your printer, backup it and delete.
