What would be causing memory issues with the OS?

I'm running two thin clients in an environment. Each client auto-logins and runs a browser either Edge or Chrome. Within either browser I get Out of Memory errors. I have disabled all scheduled tasks. At times the Dell Application will even launch and say Application Out of Memory. I've tried to put folder exclusions in for Edge, but still have the same problem. I bought these just to display a website and don't have a management server. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? I was told this application isn't right for these machines since I don't have an application server.

It sounds like you have UWF enabled. If you disable UWF, do the memory issues still occur?

If there are no issues, what other UWF exclusion do you have setup?

I typically recommend the base line UWF exclusions:

    • c:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs
    • c:\Windows\assembly
    • "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones"
    • HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation
    • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WiredL2\GP_Policy
    • HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\dot3svc

My UWF GUI utility has support to get an estimated file list that is filling up the overlay: https://annabooks.com/SW_UWFUtility.html This might give you a clue as to what might be filling up memory.
