Hi guys,

i have a question about the configuration of screen lock in Windows 10/11.

I'd like to know which are the registry keys involved into the lock screen because i've an issue with my customer where i've applied the "device lock" setting by Intune and some devices seems not apply correctly the timeout applied of 10 minutes and instead their devices locks after 1 minute.

I tried with Process Monitor to see which registry key is called but without success.

Checking the keys that i found googling seems all correct (10 minutes (0xa)for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\current\device\DeviceLock\MaxInactivityTimeDeviceLock)

All devices have DELL Power Manager or other products for power management but only a subset of them seems not apply correctly the configuration.

This issue is forcing me to maintain only the screen saver and not the screen lock.

Please help me with this strange behaviour.

Thanks in advance.

If possible, try to compare the registry key with the correctly functioning device and one that's locking after 1 minute.

    Check the following keys also:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\7516b95f-f776-4464-8c53-06167f40cc99\3c0bc021-c8a8-4e07-a973-6b14cbcb2b7e

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Power\PowerSettings

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\ScreenSaveTimeOut

Temporarily disable DELL Power Manager and any other third-party power management app.

You may create a new user id to test the issue.
