Frequent BSOD when gaming "DPC Watchdog Violation"

Hello all,

My PC has frequent 'DPC Watchdog violation' BSOD's when playing games.It is not isolated to specific games, and either freezes the screen until I shut down, or immediately bluescreens and restarts the computer.

I have run both the CHKDSK and the SFC /SCANNOW commands and haven't been able to figure out a solution.

Can any of you all help?

1. Update or rollback drivers

Graphics card driver:

Update: Visit the official website of your graphics card manufacturer (e.g. NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) to download and install the latest graphics card drivers. This helps to resolve issues related to game compatibility and performance.

Rollback: If the problem occurs after a recent driver update, consider rolling back to a previous stable version.

Other drivers:

Check and update all other drivers that may be relevant, such as sound card, network card and chipset drivers.

2. Check for hardware problems

Memory: Run a memory test (e.g. Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool) to check for memory errors. Memory problems can cause various system instabilities.

Hard Disk: Although you have run CHKDSK, persistent problems may indicate a more serious hard disk failure. Consider checking with a more specialized hard drive diagnostic tool such as HD Tune or CrystalDiskInfo.

Other hardware: Check that other hardware components (e.g. power supply, CPU cooler, etc.) are working properly.

3. Disable Overclocking

If your system or any hardware component (such as CPU or GPU) is overclocked, try to restore it to its default settings. Overclocking may cause system instability and blue screen errors.
