onmicrosoft.com accounts are Azure AD accounts not personal Microsoft accounts.

Use the work or school account login portal

Visit: Office 365 login page or Azure AD portal.

    Hello,

Follow these steps to add a work account:

    • Open Settings and go to Accounts.
    • Select Access work or school.
    • Click on Connect and follow the prompts to add your work account.

    Work or School Account:

    • Accessing: These accounts are managed by your organization's IT department. They provide access to enterprise services like Microsoft 365 for business, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and other business applications. When you sign in with a work or school account, you are typically subject to your organization's security policies and compliance requirements.
    • Adding: To add a work or school account to your device, you usually need to go through the "Access work or school" section in your device's settings. This process often involves additional steps like multi-factor authentication (MFA) and may require approval from your IT department.

    Personal Account:

    • Accessing: Personal accounts are created and managed by you. They provide access to consumer services like Outlook.com, Xbox, Skype, and OneDrive. These accounts are not subject to organizational policies, giving you full control over your account settings and data.
    • Adding: Adding a personal account to your device is generally simpler and can be done through the "Email & accounts" section in your device's settings. This process typically involves just entering your email and password, without the need for additional authentication steps.
