Hello, @Glenn Maxwell,
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform!
Based on your description, I understand that you want to set up an autoresponder for a shared mailbox in an Exchange 2016 hybrid environment and ensure that any emails sent to that shared mailbox are deleted.
To achieve the results you are looking for, you can follow the steps below.
1.Use the Set-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration command in PowerShell to configure an automatic reply for the shared mailbox.
2.Create a transport rule in EAC according to the following procedures.
a. Open the Exchange Admin Center (EAC).
b. Navigate to Mail flow > Rules.
c. Click on the + icon and select Create a new rule.
d. Name the rule .
e. Under Apply this rule if, select The recipient is and choose the shared mailbox.
f. Under Do the following, select Block the message > delete the message without notifying anyone.
g. Save and enable the rule.
- Send a test email to an external recipient from this shared mailbox.
- The external recipient receives the test email and replies to the email, receiving an auto-reply stating that the mailbox is not monitored.
5. Shared mailbox not showing the reply email.
