Updating Wireshark through Intune

Got it! Here’s the revised version:

I’m trying to update Wireshark from Intune through supersedence from versions 4.2.6, 4.2.1, and 4.2.5 to 4.4.0. For the most part, it works well, thanks to Wireshark’s MSI files, which simplify the process. However, when I tested it on some non-IT devices, I encountered errors and wasn’t sure why.

Upon investigation, I discovered that Wireshark was not installed in the usual location in Regedit but in the WOW6432Node. To address this, I included that registry path in the 4.2.6 version app in Intune, so it now checks both the normal location and the WOW6432Node.

Is there anything else I should do? I’m planning to update to version 4.4.0 (I’ve tested that the update leap is possible, and it works).

@Alex Demetriou Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

Wireshark was not installed in the usual location in Regedit but in the WOW6432Node.

---Please understand that it is related to this app itself and not controlled by intune.

After the changes you do, please try to test in a small group of devices. If there is something error, we will continue to discuss.
