Hello,

I currently have an Outline VPN server running on a virtual machine in my resource group. I have several clients, and last month my VPN server usage reached 300GB. For August, I incurred a bandwidth charge of €14.47.

I would like to clarify whether bandwidth is free within certain limitations, or if it is fully chargeable beyond a specific threshold.

Additionally, I have an automation account set up, along with a dynamic IP that updates every two days. I also have a domain connected from Namecheap. However, my total cost for August amounted to €23, which seems quite high. I was wondering if there is a more cost-effective solution to achieve the same results ?
Thanks

See the pricing of bandwith here: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/bandwidth/. Inbound is usually free and outbound is charged. Full details in link above.

Possible ways to reduce your cost:

Switching to a smaller VM size.

If you plan to run this VM for a long time, you might save money by purchasing a reserved instance.

You can also set autoshutdown if possible
