Principal does not have access to API/Operation. Error creating new vector store in Azure AI Studio "create vector store".

Question

When I try uploading a PDF file to the "create vector store" in Azure AI Studio and press "create", I get the error "Principal does not have access to API/Operation." All I am trying to do is upload a file to the "vector store" and press "create".

Could you confirm if you have required access to perform the operation on the resource?

You need to have Cognitive Services OpenAI Contributor role. Add the role from Azure portal and logout from the studio and then login to check if that works as expected.

in my case the needed role was Cognitive Services Data Contributor (Preview)
