On premises archive data missing from user mailbox after online archive was enabled. Is there a way to recover old data. Litigation hold was enabled on the mailbox so ideally the data should not be lost.

Let me know if there is a way in which we can get the on-premises exchange archive data of the user's mailbox.

    Hi,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum!

Since litigation hold was enabled, deleted items are moved to the Recoverable Items folder. You can access this folder using tools like Outlook or the Exchange admin console. You can also recover deleted items from the Recoverable Items folder in their archive mailbox by using the Recover Deleted Items tool.

Please feel free to contact me for any updates. And if this helps, don't forget to mark it as an answer.

You can recover the archive data by simple ways-

Firstly, try to recover from backup of the Exchange Server. After that, you can check recoverable items folder if it is mistakenly deleted.

By using EMS to can check the missing data through ‘Search-Mailbox’ cmdlet.
