Remotedesktopclient App (Mac/Windows) shows frozen/old image

I have a problem with the Remote Desktop Client App.

Remote access to a Windows 10 computer worked for a while. At the end of the session, I sent the remote computer to sleep mode with “Save energy”. This caused the client window to display the message “Please wait...” on a green background.

Up to this point, the behavior was normal/expected.

However, when I later ended the hibernation of the remote computer, the “Please wait...” message on green background image continued to appear in the client window of the Remote Desktop App.

With a Windows Remote Desktop Connection program (mstsc.exe) I get the desktop as usual, whereby the connection of the Remote Desktop App is interrupted. Conversely, the connection of the mstsc client is also interrupted when I open the remote computer in the Remote Desktop Client App again. Then the green “Please wait...” appears again.

Regardless of where I use the Remote Desktop App (on my Mac or on my Windows notebook), the green “Please wait...” Picture is shown. On the Windows notebook I can use mstsc as an alternative (with some disadvantages), on the Mac there is no good alternative.

I've already tried to restart "Remote Desktop Service" on the remote computer. No change.

I think it will work again if I restart the remote computer. But this only helps for a short/indefinite time.

    Hello,

Firstly, verify your power mode. Execute the following command in cmd to check the available modes:

    powercfg /availablesleepstates

Then, switch your power mode and see if it resolves your issue.
