Thank you for the suggestions. However, the "this is not the latest email in the thread" notification at the top of an open email was a pretty critical feature of the previous version Outlook that the latest O365 Outlook does not seem to have. Unfortunately, having to change the way I organize/view all of my email to Conversation View in order to ferret out this information is a pretty clunky design solution. I have been resorting to search the entire inbox my emails with the exact subject line, which is not an ideal solution, either.

In the New Outlook, you can ensure you’re replying to the latest email in a thread by following these steps:

    1. Check the Conversation View: Make sure your emails are grouped by conversation. This way, the latest email will appear at the top or bottom of the thread, depending on your settings.
    2. Look for Notifications: Outlook typically displays a notification if you’re not replying to the latest message in the conversation. It might say something like, “You are not responding to the latest message in this conversation” and give you the option to open the latest message1.
    3. Expand the Thread: Click on the conversation to expand it and see all the emails in the thread. This helps you identify the most recent email.
    4. Check the Timestamp: Verify the date and time of the email you’re replying to, ensuring it’s the most recent one.
