Question

Hi friends, what is the meaning of metrics  operations applied in data lake storage calculations?

And there are a bunch of all metrics to calculate that are confusing. Any easy way to understand?

Here is a rough definition of operations applied:

Operations Applied:

• Read Operation: Any operation that retrieves data from the data lake.
• Write Operation: Any operation that adds or updates data in the data lake.
• Delete Operation: Any operation that removes data from the data lake.

Metrics operations in data lake storage calculations refer to the various measurements and analyses used to monitor and optimize the performance, cost, and efficiency of data lakes. These metrics help in understanding how data is stored, accessed, and utilized within the data lake environment.There are many metrices in Data Lake storage, to calculate metrices consider using visualization tools and dashboards that can present the data in a more intuitive format. Tools like Azure Monitor which offers comprehensive dashboards to track and analyze these metrics refer article.

Metrics and logs in Azure Monitor support only Azure Resource Manager storage accounts. Azure Monitor doesn't support classic storage accounts. If you want to use metrics or logs on a classic storage account, you need to migrate to an Azure Resource Manager storage account. For more information, see Migrate to Azure Resource Manager.
