When i assign IP address to windows server in microsoft azure, remote desktop connection has been automatically lost.

I'm using windows server 2012 R2. when I configure the server by assigning an IP address, the remote desktop connection has been lost and then not connect to the remote desktop. please guide me on what should I do?

    You assigned a static IP address in OS?
    That's not a good idea ;-)
    Inside the OS the IP address configuration must be dynamic!

    If you want the private IP address of a VM to be static this is the way to do it:

    @Ali Hassan , As said earlier by @Andreas Baumgarten , configuring a static IP address within the VM will eventually result in complete loss of connectivity to it. Here is the solution to retrieve the connections back in action,

    Cannot remote desktop to Azure Virtual Machines because of static IP

    If you don't have serial console enabled in your VM the you need to go for NIC reset. But, anyways make sure that you have the snapshot of the VM disk as a backup.
