Analysis Service very slow to connect in SQL Management Studio

Hi all,
I have a SQL Server, SSAS and SQL Server Management Studio installed on the same PC.
Connecting to the SQL Database Engine in SSMS is very fast.
However, connecting to SSAS in SSMS is excruciatingly slow, even though it is just a localhost connection. The SSAS databases are all multidimensional. Is there any way to speed up the connection? Thanks.
