Hp desktop pc, Windows 11. While the computer was starting, I did a very quick clean on my keyboard with a cloth. I must have struck a combination of keys because now it won’t boot and it won’t do the repair. I downloaded the Creation media tool, it starts doing the installation perfectly fine but at the end it won't do the completion. I entered the BIOS trying to boot from UEFI (hard drive with the media ration windows 11) and again it doesn't complete the installation.

I want to keep my files so I chose the Upgrade but it won’t do anything. My last resort was to Install windows in its partition but I got the ‘Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation. To install Windows, restart the installation.’ message.

So these were my following steps:

  • Tried to repair via blue screen. Didn’t work
  • Got in Bios, tried to enable the Legacy,  Went into Secure configuration because it was not Enabled so tried a couple of combinations there. Nothing worked.
  • Downloaded media creation tool for Windows 11, three times because it was none of them were working. Tried to boot from UEFI external hard drive via BIOS, nothing. Tried to install Windows via blue screen nothing again.
  • Tried to command prompt to open NOTEPAD in order to copy the latest files but after wmic logicaldisc get name, cs Windows it said that none of the directories were working. I tried the one that was supposed to have the Windows it didn’t allow NOTEPAD.exe to open as the path was not correct.
  • At last, I removed the hard drive and tried to put it on another computer but again the same messages, computer was not working again.

These are all the steps I did to try to make my pc start again. I am not a massive connoisseur so if there is anyone who can help me step by step, it would be greatly appreciated.
