Configuration: I have configured a 6 Windows 11 workstation to run the Edge browser in kiosk mode through assigned access. Edge home page is a html Script and it is set to reset after 5 mins.

Issue: Every time the workstation restarts and launches into kiosk mode a restrictions error appears: "The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

    Hello

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the “The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer” error:

Update Windows: Make sure your Windows 11 is fully updated. You can check for updates by going to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.

Exit and Re-enter Kiosk Mode: Try exiting from the Kiosk mode and load with the normal mode and then load with Kiosk mode again.

Create a New User: Try creating a new user and setup the Kiosk with another user and see if the problem persists.

    Repair Edge:

Press Windows key + I and access Applications.

Select Edge from the list and click Modify.

Click on Repair and wait for the process to finish.

Check if the error still appears.

    Check Kiosk Mode Settings:

Make sure you have configured the Edge browser correctly in kiosk mode.

You can check the settings by going to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users > Set up a kiosk > Get started.

Choose how the app will run and the time to restart the app.

Sign out of the primary account and sign in with the kiosk account.
