Add button disabled in Email Communication Services MailFrom addresses

I am using Azure Email Communication Service. I have setup a custom domain, and it is fully verified (SPF, DKIK, etc.). Sending email works. However, by default it has the MailFrom set to ******@mydomain.com.

I want to add my own MailFrom, e.g., ******@mydomain.com. However, the 'Add' button disabled. How do I make it enabled?

Based on the shared information, I understand that you are trying to add/create a new senderusernames for a custom managed domain in ACS email service from the portal and the Add button is grayed out.

Could you please try creating the senderusernames using either below through Rest API or AzCLI cmdlets and let us know if you are still facing the issues.

SenderUsernames- Create or Update

az communication email domain sender-username create

Hi @Yasiru Swaris , I'm sorry for the inconvenience that happened because of this. Can you please confirm that both of your Azure Communication Services and Email Communication Service have the same data location?

Follow-on question - why is even the "Delete" button greyed out?!!

The amount of forethought here is extremely miniscule. Also, no Edit button? Total lack of concern here...

What did you provide in the username field? The documentation says this field is optional but if I don't provide it I get this error: Message: Resource name mismatch. ResourceName doesn't match with the username provided in resource body.

Hello Nalin, sorry for any inconvenience that happened because of this.

There was a recent update on the Email Communication Services, where you cannot create a new MailFrom address or enable the engagement tracking if you are on the default throttling limit.

Can you please confirm if you are on the default throttling limit? If so, you can submit a request to increase the throttling limit as mentioned in the documentation here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/communication-services/concepts/service-limits#email then you will be able to use the aforementioned features.

I'm sorry to hear that, Mayank Gupta.
As mentioned in the documentation here Enable User Engagement Tracking, to enable this feature, your resource should not be on the default sending limits. Can you please confirm if you got your email throttling limit increased?

I get that spam is an issue and lots needs to be done to combat the scourge..

But I don't think I'm the only one here thinking it's non sensical to make a dependency for the ability to "Add" a from address on a verified custom domain to a service request to change the e-mail quotas for the account..

Especially when trying to open said ticket leads to an "Quota type" dropdown on the support form which DOES NOT INCLUDE COMMUNICATION SERVICES OR E-MAIL.. Azure has always been a bit crap at their menu tree on the support side but come on..

How can I send support ticket without a paid support plan? All I can get in suggestions that link the same documentiation which you provided.

I have this problem too.. Feels like they want us to pay for said support ticket to get the functionality we're paying for increased.. This should fall under free quota increase tickets, but that menu doesn't have an option for e-mail/communications sadly.
