Wher should we update the new password for SCOrch Action account

Hi All,

To increase complexity to the passwords, we want to change the password of SCOrch action account. Please let me know in which places it should be updated in SCOrch after changing the password in AD.

It will help me to plan and make the change without any service interruption.

Hi @Diana Shiny ,

You update the Orchestrator service accounts by going to the Services.msc and there search for the Orchestrator services and change the accounts.

In addition to that, you must also change the account in the Application Pool "System Center 2012 Orchestrator Web Features" with IIS Admin.

If you specified Windows Authentication to Orchestrator Database during setup (default and recommended), the new Account must have a login in the Database Orchestrator Database or the SQL Instance, and be a member of the SQL-Roles:

Microsoft.SystemCenter.Orchestrator.Admins

Microsoft.SystemCenter.Orchestrator.operators

Microsoft.SystemCenter.Orchestrator.Users

Thanks, Leon.

I will update the password in services.msc. But in IIS, I can see the action account is present but there is no option to update the password.

So, to update the password, do I have to update any other place in SCOrch? We have two SCOrch servers. So, I will stop the SCOrch services on both of the servers and update the password in AD and in services.msc.

Please let me know if I have to look anything else.

You can change the password within the IIS Manager by right-clicking your System Center 2012 Orchestrator Web Features application pool > Advanced Settings >Under Identity select your service account and click on the radio button (...) > click on Set > enter your username and password.

Change the domain service accounts password on each Runbook Server in the Services.msc, you will only need to change the password within the IIS on the Orchestrator management server.
