Free up space in Azure Container Registry

Hello,

I have deleted repositories from my Azure Container Registry, but it still does not free up space, and the dashboard still shows me the same available space as before.

Can anyone please help me fix this problem? I am on a basic plan for Azure Container Registry,

If the soft delete was enabled for your ACR , those images will still be occupying the space in the ACR. Space will be reclaimed only after the retention period. (i.e., while enabling the soft delete you might have mentioned the retention period as 7 or 14) . So soft deleted images will be removed only after that retention period and corresponding space will be reclaimed !!

I just tested locally on my ACR with Soft Delete Enabled and with out Soft Deleted Enabled. If the soft delete is not enabled , when I delete the image space got reclaimed immediately !

Hi Shiva,

Thanks for the prompt response.

The Soft Delete was enabled 2 days ago but then I disabled Soft Delete using Azure Portal, but the space has still not freed up.

Are there any other configurations I need to check?

Umer Rashid - If you have deleted the Images when the Soft Delete was enabled - you have to wait for the Retention Period to expire for the image which were deleted at the time when the Soft Delete was enabled!

Now you disabled Soft delete , if you try deleting any existing image - space will be reclaimed immediately!
