Hi everybody,

I started to experience a strange problem after installing the quality update KB5001716 (this is what I put the blame on). After the update, I restarted my computer and realized that none of the Office programs responded, even Adobe programs stopped working. When I try to open my Word, Excel or other Office files, nothing happens. There was a guy on Youtube who suggested turning off the Printer Spooler service, which I did, but still the problem is there.

I am running Windows 22H2 and Office 2019 Professional.

And here is my solution. Again, a blessed Youtube video helped me. The update which was supposed to help the customers, brought some mess in the registry. I had to go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\winword.exe, locate UseFilter and delete the value. Did the same for Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Excel, Acrobat, etc. Now it works.
